Organization	Organization Laredo Petroleum, Inc. ("Laredo" and formerly known as Laredo Petroleum Holdings, Inc.), together with its subsidiary, Laredo Midstream Services, LLC ("Laredo Midstream"), is an independent energy company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and natural gas properties primarily in the Permian Basin in West Texas. In these notes, the "Company," (i) when used in the present tense, prospectively or as of December 31, 2013, refers to Laredo and Laredo Midstream collectively and (ii) when used for historical periods prior to December 31, 2013, refers to Laredo and its subsidiaries, collectively. All amounts, dollars and percentages presented in these unaudited consolidated financial statements and the related notes are rounded and therefore approximate.
