Available-for-sale Securities
The following table represents the cost or amortized cost, gross unrealized gains and losses, fair value and OTTI in AOCI of our AFS investments by asset type. Our AFS investment portfolio includes direct investments in affiliates of Apollo where Apollo can exercise significant influence over the affiliates. These investments are presented as investments in related parties on the consolidated balance sheets, and are separately disclosed below.
