WiLAN and BlackBerry Settle All Litigations

OTTAWA, Canada – October 9, 2013 – Wi-LAN Inc. (“WiLAN” or the “Company”) (TSX:WIN) (NASD:WILN) today announced that BlackBerry Limited (“BlackBerry”) and WiLAN have reached an agreement to dismiss all pending patent litigations between the companies.

As part of the agreement, BlackBerry has obtained a license to certain patents in suit in Florida. As a result, all litigations between the companies in Florida will be dismissed with prejudice.

In addition, the agreement calls for the dismissal, without prejudice, of all litigation between the companies in Texas. The parties will pursue licensing discussions regarding certain other wireless technologies.

Specific financial terms of the agreement reached are confidential.

WiLAN and Sierra Wireless Reach Agreement to Settle Litigations

OTTAWA, Canada – October 10, 2013 – Wi-LAN Inc. (“WiLAN” or the “Company”) (TSX:WIN) (NASD:WILN) today announced that WiLAN and Sierra Wireless Inc. (“Sierra Wireless”) have signed a binding memorandum of understanding in which Sierra Wireless has agreed to enter into a multi-year license to WiLAN’s patent portfolio. As part of the agreement, all litigations between WiLAN and Sierra Wireless and its subsidiaries will be resolved.

WiLAN expects a definitive agreement to be executed by the end of October 2013. Specific financial terms of the agreement reached are confidential.

WiLAN Enters into License and Settlement Agreement with HP

OTTAWA, Canada – October 15, 2013 – Wi-LAN Inc. (“WiLAN” or the “Company”) (TSX:WIN) (NASD:WILN) today announced that WiLAN and Hewlett-Packard Company (“HP”) have entered into a patent license agreement and settled all pending patent litigation.

Under the license agreement, HP has been granted a license related to certain WiLAN patents and HP wireless products.  As a result, all litigation between the companies in Texas will be dismissed with prejudice.  Specific financial terms of the agreement reached are confidential.
