WiLAN Provides Litigation Update

OTTAWA, Canada – September 10, 2013 – Wi-LAN Inc. (“WiLAN” or the “Company”) (TSX:WIN) (NASD:WILN) today announced that on September 9, 2013, an Order on Claim Construction was issued in the litigation between WiLAN and Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. WiLAN is alleging infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 8,027,298, 8,229,437 and 8,249,014. The claim construction hearing in this case was held before Judge Cecilia Altonaga on August 9, 2013. WiLAN believes the Order provides a good basis to proceed with the case. Trial is scheduled to begin on April 21, 2014.
