Related party transactions

Related Party Transactions

The Company purchased certain research and development services from Genevant. These services are billed at agreed hourly rates and reflective of market rates for such services.  The total cost of these services was $0 and 33 thousand for the three and six months ended June 30, 2019, respectively. The total cost of these services was $0.1 million and $0.1 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2018, respectively, and are included in the Condensed Consolidated Statements of Operations under research, development, collaborations and contracts expenses.

Conversely, Genevant purchased certain administrative and transitional services from the Company totaling $0.1 million and $0.2 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2019, respectively. The total income from these services was $0.2 million and $0.2 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2018, which were netted against research and development expenses in the Condensed Consolidated Statements of Operations. In addition, Genevant had a sublease for 17,900 square feet in the Company's Burnaby facility. Sublease income from Genevant was $62 thousand and $0.1 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2019, respectively, and was netted against site consolidation costs and lease liability (see notes 7 and 8).
