Legal Proceedings

On November 19, 2012, Kookmin Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KB Financial Group Inc., received written notice of the final decision of the Supreme Court of Korea on the lawsuit filed against Kookmin Bank by the Korean government in August 2006 seeking KRW 320.8 billion in damages against Kookmin Bank, Ernst & Young Han Young, Korea Lottery Service Inc. and their respective employees for excessive fees paid for lottery operations.

On November 15, 2012, the Supreme Court of Korea dismissed the Korean government’s appeal of previous dismissals of the claim by the Seoul Central District Court and the Seoul High Court and held that there was no legitimate cause of action against Kookmin Bank.
