On May 31, 2016, ESSA Bancorp, Inc. (the Company) announced that the Company would make a payment of a cash dividend of $0.09 per share of common stock. This dividend will be paid to stockholders of record as of June 16, 2016, payable on June 30, 2016. A copy of the press release announcing the dividend is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.

ESSA BANCORP, INC. DECLARES QUARTERLY DIVIDEND
Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, May 31, 2016 ESSA Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ Global MarketSM: ESSA), the holding company for ESSA Bank & Trust, a $1.8 billion asset institution providing full service retail and commercial banking, financial and investment services, today announced that its Board of Directors declared a dividend of nine cents ($0.09) per share. The dividend is payable to shareholders of record as of June 16, 2016, payable on June 30, 2016.
This will be the thirty-third consecutive quarter ESSA Bancorp, Inc. has paid a dividend to its shareholders. ESSA became a public company in April 2007.
