Item 5.02 Appointment of New Director

Effective February 13, 2008, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Switch & Data Facilities Company, Inc. (the “Company”) increased the number of directors of the Company from seven to eight members and appointed Michael Sievert as a Class III director.

Mr. Sievert will serve as a member of the Governance Committee and the Compensation Committee.

As a member of the Board, Mr. Sievert will receive the Company’s standard cash and stock-based compensation for non-employee directors.
