Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On April 30, 2009, VeraSun Energy Corporation (the “Company”) released William L. Honnef from his duties as the Company’s Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing and Strategic Initiatives, and the Company has notified him that his employment with the Company will terminate effective as of May 26, 2009.

On May 1, 2009, Bryan D. Meier, the Company’s principal financial and accounting officer, resigned as Vice President, Finance and Chief Accounting Officer of the Company, effective as of such date.
