Item 8.01.  Other Events

 

On August 26, 2009, Duke Energy Generation Services (“Duke Energy”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Duke Energy Corporation, entered into an agreement with PacifiCorp for a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement pursuant to which PacifiCorp will purchase 100% of the energy and associated renewable energy credits generated by Duke Energy’s 200.2 MW Top of the World Windpower Project.  The project will be located in Converse County, Wyoming.  Duke Energy plans to commence construction in late 2009 or early 2010, upon receipt of all necessary permits.
