(b) On March 5, 2013, Susan Siegel, a Class I director, announced her resignation from the Board of Directors of Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. (the “Company”), which resignation will be effective on or before the Company’s 2013 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

On March 5, 2013, David Singer, a Class III director, informed the Company that he has chosen not to stand for re-election at the Company’s 2013 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. Mr. Singer has indicated his intention to continue to serve as a director until the Company’s 2013 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
