The Registrant, Northwestern Mineral Ventures Inc., requires additional time to
file its Annual Report on Form 20-F since the Registrant is awaiting updated
information as to the work program and expenditures incurred to date on the
Registrant's mineral exploration property located in southwestern Mexico.

In addition, the Registrant is awaiting updated information as to work program
and expenditures incurred to date on the Registrant's mineral exploration
property located in the northwest territories of Canada.
