Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure

On October 5, 2006, New York Mortgage Trust, Inc. (the "Company") announced in a press release that it will report financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2006 after the close of market on Tuesday, November 7, 2006. On Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern, the Company's executive management will host a conference call and audio webcast highlighting the Company's third quarter financial results.
