On November 3, 2009, W. R. Berkley Corporation (the “Company”) announced the election by the Board of Directors of W. Robert Berkley, Jr., age 37, as president and chief operating officer of the Company, effective immediately. A copy of the press release relating to this appointment is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
