Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On March 9, 2015, Alere Inc., or the Company, announced that David Teitel, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, or CFO, will transition from the role of CFO when a suitable successor is hired. The Company has engaged an executive search firm to support the recruitment process. Mr. Teitel intends to continue in the CFO role until his successor is named and to work closely with the management team, including the new CFO, to facilitate a smooth and successful transition of his responsibilities.
