This Report on Form 6-K contains a press release issued by Statoil ASA on January 20, 2005, entitled "Notifiable trading".

 

Notifiable trading

On behalf of Statoil (OSE:STL, NYSE:STO), DnB NOR has on 14 January purchased 168,000 shares for use in the group's share saving plan.

The shares have been acquired at a price of NOK 95.14 per share. Statoil has on 19 January distributed the shares to the employees in accordance with their savings amount. Following this, the share saving plan has 85,256 shares.
