         On February 20, 2008, the Board of Directors of Community Financial
Shares, Inc. (the "Company") approved a repurchase program for up to 15,000
shares of the Company's outstanding common stock, which is approximately 1.2% of
the Company's outstanding shares. For more information, reference is made to the
Company's press release dated February 25, 2008, a copy of which is attached to
this Report as Exhibit 99.1 and is furnished herewith.
