Rule 2.10 announcement - Update of Relevant Securities in Issue

In accordance with Rule 2.10 of the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers,
Prudential confirms that since its previous announcement under Rule 2.10 the
number of ordinary shares of 5p in issue has increased to 2,386,751,270 and the
number of ordinary shares of 5p under option has decreased to 13,686,741. Part
of the ordinary shares under option may be satisfied by the transfer of existing
shares.

The International Securities Identification Number for Prudential's ordinary
shares is GB0007099541.
