     On January 26, 2009, Catharine Newberry’s employment as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Strategy Officer of The Medicines Company (the “Company”), terminated, effective immediately. Ms. Newberry was a “named executive officer” in the Company’s Proxy Statement related to the Company’s 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
