      On September 7, 2005, Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company"), the
holding company for Berkshire Bank (the "Bank"), announced that the Bank has
opened a full service branch at Shoppers World Plaza, 15 Park Avenue in Clifton
Park, New York. A copy of the Company's press release dated September 7, 2005 is
attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
