ICICI Bank Limited (the ‘Bank’) Report on Form 6-K

The Bank has made the following announcement to the Indian stock exchanges:

We write with reference to the clarification sought by both the Exchanges with respect to a report in a newspaper.

At the outset, please do note that the matters reported in a newspaper article mentioned had been informed by the Bank to the Stock Exchanges in June 2018 and subsequently through its Annual Report for each of the years ending March 31, 2018 (page number 128), 2019 (page number 135) and 2020 (page number 142). The Bank also includes this information in the Form 20F filed with SEC. We reiterate that there is no new development meriting further disclosure at this stage.

It is intriguing that the newspaper chose to report this two-year old matter despite there being no new development. It was further surprising to notice that it was carried on the front page.
