Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

On May 1, 2014, MetLife, Inc. (the “Company”) inadvertently indicated, in response to a question during its first quarter 2014 earnings call, that the year over year increase in cancer sales in Japan was approximately 120%. The Company is correcting that statement to indicate that the year over year increase in cancer sales in Japan was approximately 20%. This statement is furnished and not filed pursuant to instruction B.2 of Form 8-K.
