TransAtlantic Petroleum Corp. (the “Company”) is unable, without unreasonable effort or expense, to file its Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2008 within the prescribed period. The Company has simultaneously been preparing its Form 10-K and engaging in activities related to its recent acquisitions. The Company required additional time to ensure the filing of a complete and accurate Form 10-K and allow the Company’s independent registered public accountants to complete its audit. The Company has now filed its Form 10-K.

TransAtlantic’s consolidated net loss for 2008 was $8.6 million or $0.13 net loss per share (basic and diluted), compared to consolidated net loss of $7.9 million or $0.18 net loss per share (basic and diluted) for 2007. The 2008 net loss is composed primarily of general and administrative expense of $3.0 million and $5.2 million related to international exploration activities.

The Company’s consolidated revenues for the year ended December 31, 2008 were $111,000 which represented a decrease of $542,000 from the $653,000 reported for 2007.
