(NASDAQ: AKAM) today announced that it had completed the sale of $175 million principal amount of its 1.0% Senior Convertible Notes due 2033 in a previously announced private placement. In addition, Akamai has granted the initial purchaser of the convertible notes an option to purchase up to an additional $25 million principal amount of notes. The convertible notes were offered only to qualified institutional buyers in reliance on Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and outside the United States pursuant to Regulation S of the Securities Act.
