Note R – Operating Leases

We lease certain property and equipment from third parties under non-cancelable operating lease agreements.  Rent expense under operating leases was $16,277,000, $13,519,000 and $14,683,000 in fiscal 2018, fiscal 2017 and fiscal 2016, respectively.  Future minimum lease payments for non-cancelable operating leases having an initial or remaining term in excess of one year at May 31, 2018, were as follows:
