Organization and Business Description	1. Organization and Business Description United Therapeutics Corporation is a biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative products to address the unmet medical needs of patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases. We have approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market the following therapies: Remodulin® (treprostinil) Injection (Remodulin), Tyvaso® (treprostinil) Inhalation Solution (Tyvaso), Adcirca® (tadalafil) Tablets (Adcirca), Orenitram® (treprostinil) Extended-Release Tablets (Orenitram) and Unituxin® (dinutuximab) Injection (Unituxin). Remodulin has also been approved in various countries outside the United States, and Unituxin was granted marketing authorization by the European Medicines Agency in August 2015. Tyvaso is also approved in Israel. We commenced commercial sales of Orenitram and Unituxin in the U.S. during the second quarter of 2014 and the third quarter of 2015, respectively. As used in these notes to the consolidated financial statements, unless the context otherwise requires, the terms "we", "us", "our", and similar terms refer to United Therapeutics Corporation and its consolidated subsidiaries.
