Item 5.02 – Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On March 11, 2008, MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company (“MEHC”) announced that Mr. Gregory E. Abel, its President and Chief Operating Officer, has been named its President and Chief Executive Officer effective April 16, 2008. Mr. Abel will succeed Mr. David L. Sokol, who relinquished the position of Chief Executive Officer in accordance with the terms of his employment agreement. Mr. Sokol will continue to serve as MEHC’s Chairman of the Board of Directors.
