Subsequent Events	Subsequent Event BD’s Intention to Spin Off Diabetes Care On May 6, 2021, the Company announced its intention to spin off its Diabetes Care business as a separate publicly traded company to BD’s shareholders. The proposed spin-off is intended to be a tax-free transaction for U.S. federal income tax purposes and is expected to be completed in the first half of calendar year 2022, subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions, including final approval from BD’s Board of Directors and the effectiveness of a registration statement on Form 10 to be filed with the SEC. As an independent, publicly traded entity, the Diabetes Care business will be positioned to more effectively allocate its capital and operational resources with a dedicated growth strategy.
