Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On September 30, 2010, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Extreme Networks, Inc. (“Extreme Networks”) increased the size of the Board and elected Oscar Rodriquez, Extreme Networks’ President and Chief Executive Officer, to fill the resulting vacancy as a Class I director. As previously disclosed in the Company’s Form 8-K, dated August 3, 2010, Mr. Rodriguez was appointed as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer effective August 23, 2010. Mr. Rodriguez’s term on the Board shall expire at the 2011 annual meeting of the Company’s stockholders. Mr. Rodriguez will not receive any compensation for his services on the Board.
