(b) Arch Chemicals, Inc. (the “Company”) and Dr. John P. Schaefer, who is age 72 and a director of the Company since 1999, have agreed that Dr. Schaefer will retire from the Company's Board of Directors on April 27, 2007. Dr. Schaefer is past the Board’s mandatory retirement age and had previously agreed, at the Board’s request, to continue to serve past the mandatory retirement age.
