Item 8.01 — Other Events
On September 6, 2011, MELA Sciences, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it
received CE Mark approval for MelaFind®, allowing the Company to market its MelaFind
device to dermatologists across the European Union. A copy of the press release is attached as
Exhibit 99.1 to this current report.
