Anworth Declares a $0.18 Per Share Second Quarter 2012 Common Dividend

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 2012--Anworth Mortgage Asset Corporation (NYSE: ANH) announced today that its board of directors declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.18 per share for the second quarter of 2012. The common stock dividend is payable on July 27, 2012 to common stockholders of record as of the close of business on July 9, 2012.

Commenting on the Company’s second quarter operations, Lloyd McAdams, Anworth’s Chief Executive Officer, stated, “During the second quarter, we continued to reinvest the scheduled repayments of principal and the prepayments of principal received from our primarily adjustable-rate mortgage asset portfolio into similar mortgage assets whose interest rate was lower than that which was being earned on the principal amount that was repaid to us. Also impacting interest income was the projected per share amount of premium amortization expense for the second quarter, which is expected to increase from that of the first quarter.”
