On September 14, 2011, United Rentals, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it will participate
in the 2011 Citi Global Industrials Conference on Thursday, September 22, 2011. At the conference, Michael Kneeland,
chief executive officer of the Company, and William Plummer, chief financial officer, will present information
regarding the Company, which may include a discussion of the Company’s business, financial performance and
forward-looking information. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 9:40 a.m., Eastern Time.
