Restructuring and Other Exit Activities Restructuring and Other Exit Activities As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our manufacturing operations and manage costs, we regularly evaluate our staffing levels and facility requirements compared to business needs. The table below summarizes our exit activities associated with these efforts. “Charges” represents the initial charge related to the exit activity. “Cash Payments” consists of the utilization of “Charges.” “Non-cash Amounts” consists of translation adjustments.
Japan Consolidation Activities
During the three months ended March 31, 2021, we recorded restructuring charges of $1.9 million associated with our Japan factory consolidation efforts. We recorded these charges to selling, general and administrative expenses within the Consolidated Statements of Income. All amounts accrued at March 31, 2021 are classified as current liabilities. We expect to complete these restructuring actions in the second quarter of 2021.
