ITEM 7.01.  REGULATION FD DISCLOSURE.

On June 30, 2008, Solutia Inc. (“Solutia” or “the Company”) issued a press release to announce the Company’s decision to retain HSBC Securities to explore strategic alternatives for its nylon business, including a possible sale.

No assurances can be made as to whether the exploration of strategic alternatives will lead to the consummation of any particular transaction.  The timing and implementation of any such transaction is not known at this time. Additionally, any potential transaction will likely be subject to numerous closing conditions including, but not limited to, various third party approvals, including approvals under the Company’s financing agreements.
