Item 7.01. REGULATION FD DISCLOSURE

     On January 23, 2008, Solutia Inc. (the “Company”) issued the press release attached as Exhibit 99.1 hereto regarding the status of its emergence from bankruptcy. The press release is incorporated by reference into this Item 7.01. In the press release, the Company refers to its Fifth Amended Joint Plan of Reorganization and Exit Financing Facility Commitment Letter. A copy of the plan of reorganization is available as Exhibit 99.2 to the Company’s Current Report on Form 8-K dated October 22, 2007 (which was filed with the SEC on October 25, 2007). A copy of the Exit Financing Facility Commitment Letter is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.2.
