Subsequent events	Subsequent events Declaration of Dividend for the First Quarter 2019 On February 5, 2019, the board of directors of Piedmont declared dividends for the first quarter 2019 in the amount of $0.21 per share on its common stock to stockholders of record as of the close of business on February 28, 2019. Such dividends are to be paid on March 15, 2019.

The entire disclosure for significant events or transactions that occurred after the balance sheet date through the date the financial statements were issued or the date the financial statements were available to be issued. Examples include: the sale of a capital stock issue, purchase of a business, settlement of litigation, catastrophic loss, significant foreign exchange rate changes, loans to insiders or affiliates, and transactions not in the ordinary course of business.
