Subsequent Events	Subsequent events Declaration of Dividend for the First Quarter 2014 On February 5, 2014, the board of directors of Piedmont declared dividends for the first quarter 2014 in the amount of $0.20 per share on its common stock to stockholders of record as of the close of business on February 28, 2014. Such dividends are to be paid on March 21, 2014. Contract signed for sale of 11107 & 11109 Sunset Hills Road On January 31, 2014, Piedmont entered into a binding contract to sell 11107 and 11109 Sunset Hills Road in Reston, VA. for $22.6 million. The contract is anticipated to close during the first quarter of 2014.
