Subsequent Event	Subsequent Event On May 3, 2017, AFG announced that its Board of Directors declared a special cash dividend of $1.50 per share of American Financial Group Common Stock. The dividend is payable on May 25, 2017 to shareholders of record on May 15, 2017. The aggregate amount of this special dividend will be approximately $132 million.
