Item 8.01.  Other Events.

In light of recent changing market conditions, PMA Capital Corporation (the “Company”) reviewed its investment portfolio which had a fair value of $790 million at June 30, 2008.  The Company holds senior debt securities of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. with an amortized cost of $9 million.  The Company does not hold any securities issued by American International Group, Inc. or Washington Mutual, Inc.
 
As previously disclosed, the Company's equity portfolio consists solely of $1 million par value of Federal National Mortgage Association (“Fannie Mae”) perpetual preferred stock.  The Company has no other exposure to Fannie Mae or Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation equity securities.
