(NASDAQ: PETS) today announced results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2004. Net income was $5.8 million, or $.30 per share, $.25 diluted per share, for fiscal 2004, compared to net income of $3.3 million or $.19 per share, $.16 diluted per share, for fiscal 2003, an increase of 79%. Net sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2004 were $94.0 million, compared to $55.0 million for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2003, an increase of 71%. PetMed Express also reported new customer growth of approximately 572,000 customers in fiscal 2004, compared with 414,000 in fiscal 2003. For the quarter ended March 31, 2004, income before provision for income taxes was $2.2 million compared to $1.2 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2003, an increase of 83%. For the quarters ended March 31, 2004 and 2003, respectively, net income was $1.3 million and $1.7 million, the latter of which included a deferred tax asset eliminating the income tax provision and reflecting a tax benefit of $535,000. Net sales for the quarter ended March 31, 2004 were $21.5 million, compared to $14.9 million, an increase of 44%. We are also proud to report that our reorder sales doubled from $25.8 million in fiscal 2003 to $51.4 million in fiscal 2004.
