MERCHANDISE INVENTORIES	MERCHANDISE INVENTORIES At April 27, 2024 and July 29, 2023, approximately 64% of merchandise inventories are valued by the LIFO method while the balance is valued by FIFO. If the FIFO method had been used for the entire inventory, inventories would have been $22,637 and $21,238 higher than reported at April 27, 2024 and July 29, 2023, respectively.
