MERCHANDISE INVENTORIES	MERCHANDISE INVENTORIES At both October 28, 2017 and July 29, 2017, approximately 65% of merchandise inventories are valued by the LIFO method while the balance is valued by FIFO. If the FIFO method had been used for the entire inventory, inventories would have been $14,410 higher than reported at both October 28, 2017 and July 29, 2017.
