Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.

On January 19, 2006, Core Molding Technologies announced two organizational development promotions.

Kevin L. Barnett was promoted to the position of Group Vice President on January 3, 2006. Mr. Barnett, age 43, was previously the Company’s Vice President, Business Development, Vice President, Manager Columbus Operations and Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Chief Financial Officer since joining the Company in 1997.

Stephen J. Klestinec was promoted to the position of Vice President Operations on January 3, 2006. Mr. Klestinec, age 56, was previously the Company’s Vice President, Sales and Marketing since joining the Company in 1998.

CORE MOLDING TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES

COLUMBUS, Ohio – January 19, 2006 – Core Molding Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: CMT) today announced that Kevin L. Barnett has been promoted to the position of group vice president with responsibility for operations, sales and marketing and business development. Mr. Barnett previously served as vice president business development, vice president, manager Columbus operations and chief financial officer since joining the Company in 1997. The Company further announced that Stephen J. Klestinec has been promoted to the position of vice president operations with responsibility for all of the Company’s manufacturing operations in Columbus Ohio, Cincinnati Ohio, Gaffney South Carolina and Matamoros, Mexico. Mr. Klestinec previously served as vice president, sales and marketing since joining the Company in 1998.

“These changes further strengthen the company at the senior management and operational level,” said James L. Simonton, president and chief executive officer.

“The moves also continue to serve our succession planning and professional development goals, while enabling the smooth implementation of our strategic plan.”

Core Molding Technologies, Inc. is a compounder of sheet molding composites (SMC) and molder of fiberglass reinforced plastics. The Company’s processing capabilities include the compression molding of SMC, resin transfer molding, multiple insert tooling (MIT) resin transfer molding, spray up and hand lay up processes. The Company produces high quality fiberglass reinforced, molded products and SMC materials for varied markets, including light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, automobiles, automobile aftermarket, personal watercraft and other commercial products.
