RELEASE AND EARNINGS CONFERENCE CALL

 

KANSAS CITY, MO., April 28, 2006 – NovaStar Financial, Inc. (NYSE: NFI), a residential mortgage lender and portfolio investor, will report first quarter 2006 financial results on May 4, 2006. A conference call to discuss first quarter results will take place on May 5, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time (11:00 a.m. Eastern Time).
