ABERCROMBIE & FITCH REPORTS
APRIL NET SALES INCREASE 30%;
COMPARABLE STORE SALES INCREASE 17%
New Albany, Ohio, May 4, 2006: Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) today reported net sales of $207.8 million for the four-week period ended April 29, 2006, a 30% increase over last year’s April net sales of $159.4 million. April comparable store sales increased 17% compared to the four-week period ended April 30, 2005.
Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales increase of 20% to $657.3 million from $546.8 million last year. Comparable store sales increased 6% for the year-to-date period.
April 2006 Developments
    Total Company net sales increased 30%
    Total Company comparable store sales increased 17%
    Abercrombie & Fitch comparable store sales increased 7%
    abercrombie comparable store sales increased 47%
    Hollister Co. comparable store sales increased 23%
The Company operated 348 Abercrombie & Fitch stores, 161 abercrombie stores, 327 Hollister Co. stores and ten RUEHL stores at the end of April. The Company operates e-commerce websites at www.abercrombie.com, www.abercrombiekids.com, and www.hollisterco.com.
