POWER OF ATTORNEY

        KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS, that each of UnionBanCal Corporation and the several undersigned officers and directors whose signatures appear below, hereby makes, constitutes and appoints David I. Matson, David A. Anderson, John H. McGuckin, Jr., and Morris W.
