Item 8.01 Other Events.

On January 31, 2006 TLC Vision Corporation issued a press release announcing the opening of a Lasik Select(SM) center in Huntsville, Alabama. This is the fourth of five new Lasik Select(SM) centers expected to open in the first quarter, and ten Lasik Select(SM) centers total for 2006.

TLCVision Announces the Opening of a
LASIK Select Center in Huntsville, Alabama

ST. LOUIS, MO, — January 31, 2006 – TLC Vision Corporation (NASDAQ:TLCV; TSX:TLC), North America’s premier eye care services company, announced today the opening of a LASIK Select(SM) center in Huntsville, Alabama.

This is the fourth of five new centers expected to open in the first quarter, and 10 LASIK Select(SM) centers total for 2006. The LASIK Select(SM) value-priced brand provides high quality LASIK, featuring the latest proven technology and offering patients the ease of simple pricing options.
