A reduction of certain inventories resulted in the liquidation of related LIFO inventory layers, which had an immaterial impact on pretax income for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2022 and increased pretax income $13 million and $16 million for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2021, respectively.
