9. Business Segments

The Company operates in one segment, ophthalmology. The Company develops, manufactures and markets medical devices. Our revenues arise from the sale of consoles, delivery devices, consumables, service and support activities.

Revenue information shown by geographic region, based on the location at which each sale originates, is as follows:

Revenues are attributed to countries based on location of end customers. No individual country accounted for more than 10% of the Company’s revenues, other than the United States, which accounted for 58.1% and 59.7% of revenues for the three month periods ended July 2, 2016 and July 4, 2015, respectively. For the six month period ended July 2, 2016 and July 4, 2016, the United States accounted for 53.6% and 55.3% of sales, respectively.
